So I noticed I was getting low on diskspace and did a search for large files and found this file... I can't think of any reason at all that this file should be this large.  My DNN installation doesn't get much usage, maybe 30 or less active users a day, etc.

So any ideas what I can do to clear out this file, find out why it's so large, etc?

make sure, that your frequent full backups truncate the transaction log, this will squeeze this file.

I attempted to do as you suggest, however the entire section where the "Truncate Transaction log" is grayed out.  I can't figure out a way to enable the option.  I admin I'm fairly green when it comes to MS SQL server admin so any other suggestions would be great!

From Tasks>Back Up (on the General Tab), change the Backup type from 'Full' to 'Transaction Log', The 'truncate transaction log' should be selected by default in the options tab.
