Hello,

i recently dropped about 25 folders into the dotnetnuke directory 'U:\Portals\1\' and they are not showing up in file manager, aswell as the files inside of the fodlers... but when i refer to them in a link such as '/Portals/1/pdf files/demo.pdf' they are located in that directory, is there a way to refresh file manager to show the files? also when i try to add on of the folders into the file manager through dotnetnuke, it says folder already exists...

anyone know whats going on? do the folders have to be added in using dotnetnukage?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers

Guessing.... Refresh the file manager page, but if that didn't work, did you place the folders there manually?  If so, there may be permissions issues with the folders.  Make sure they inherit the permissions form the parent folder.

If you moved the files and folders to the portal structure without using DNN, you still need to synchronize within the DNN file manager.  I believe DNN stores the info in the sql database.

so is there an easy way of doing this? i have about 30 folders and each folder has about 10 other subfolders, all with PDF and DOC Files (621 files) to go threw and add each manually using dotnetnuke will take a couple years, is there a way i can get the filemanager to look in the actual folder and not in the DB for what is there?

Any help greatly appreciated

Thanks

sorry, there is currently no other option. look for illegal characters in folder and file names like ' or duplicate entries with same name and same folderID
