The biography section of a users profile can be set as visible to three different levels of users:

  • Public: All site visitors can view it
  • Members: Registered users can view it
  • Admin: Only admin can view it

The biography can be exposed using say the Links module by adding a link to the User. The security levels set on each of the users profile fields controls who can see what.  In this way you can choose one or more users profiles to be shared for say your Sales Reps only, rather than every user of your portal.

Check out UserDirectory from www.effority.net, if you want to display a membership directory on your site. This can ptionally contain a link to each users profile
