HI all,

Can anyone advise me on the following fairly basic questions?

What defines a 'word' when the 'SearchWords' table is being constructed?

Am I right that a 'word' is, by default, a group of characters with a space at the end?

If so, is it possible to configure the system to add other characters as additional word terminators (specifically I'd like to make a ')' character also a terminator)?

Finally(!), if there is no configuration option could someone please give me quick pointer to the appropriate code which I can hack to add the above functionality?

Apologies if any of this is covered somewhere in the doco or forums, I've had a fair try at finding the answers with no luck, but I am something of a DNN noob....

Thanks,

Graham

AFAIR it is a regexp, how words are separated; this has been modified in upcoming version 4.6.0 for non-ASCII characters, but I am not sure, if your issue is covered by the change.

Regexp in which bit of code (roughly, I don't need the actual line :)  )

Bump. I really desperately need a bit more detail on how this works and where to look for the piece of code that decides when a word is defined.

A bit more background. In the repository my customer has items that are named with a code but  sometimes it is bracketed and sometimes not. If there are four items with the code ABCD I need ABCD  and ABCD) both to be found by a search for ABCD. At the monent it only finds ABCD and not ABCD) as the ABCD) is in the SearchWords table as a separate entry. So I think the easiest fix would be to produce a customised version of the search that terminated a word if it hit a space OR a )

Any ideas very gratefully accepted.

Thanks,

Graham
