Ok, I have a problem. I'm not very good with databases yet, so most of the work I've done using DNN has been based on the work of other people (i.e. using the free core modules and other handy modules developed by others).
My problem is I have a bloated database, but I have a VERY minimal site. That is, my site is simply a blog using one module, NewsArticles by Ventrian. The site is 1 page only, with the NewsArticles, and a few HTML modules with text and/or links.
The site has only been up for a few months, and the only thing I actually know for sure about my database is that the LOG files make up only 20MB out of the 652MB database. 652MB??? Why would my database grow to such a size? What do I need to turn off, or clear, or anything? My limit with my hosting company is 500MB, but I don't think the database should even be approaching that! There are fewer than 75 total articles that make up the majority of my site.
Where do I start with optimizing, knowing that the problem is NOT with the log files?
