We started building a site with a relative path set to the value psinuke.  Is there a way to change this value prior to releasing the site to its intended audience?

You mean you have a portal alias of "localhost/psinuke" on your development server and want to move the site to a live server called e. g. "www.psinuke.com"? Then add "www.psinuke.com" to the list of portal aliases before moving (in the Admin / Site Settings menu, at the bottom of the page). You really should do this BEFORTE moving, because otherwise the live server will try to redirect to the old alias, and you'll have to fumble around in the database to fix it (I had to do so more than once when I started with DNN).
