Hello,

After 2 months of operation, my site suddenly loads the initial page extremely slow (even in local network with no other users connected). After the first page has been loaded everything runs smoothly.

1)Is there a way/suggestions to investigate this matter in order to speed up the initial loading process?

2)Besides my specific problem,is there a way to speed up the first page's load time, since dotnetnuke in general suffers from first page slow loading time

Thanks in advance,

Spiros

This isuse is most likely related to the ASP.NET Worker Process re-starting.  By default it will shutdown after 20 minutes of inactivity.  This is by design.  You can get around this by using a third-party keep alive solution to prevent your worker process from shutting down.  This issue affects all ASP.NET sites, not just DNN.

To improve that longer load time you can remove un-necessary modules and ensure that all modules you install are pre-compilied release versions, that will help.
