I have a feeling that something has gotten messed up in the database, but I'm at a loss as to know where to look.

Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Well, I can answer my own question.

I had created a custom profile property "Birthdate" as datetime.  Removing this property resolved the issue.

Is this a known problem?  If not, how/where should I report it?
