Hi All,

We have installed and configured DNN 4.05.05 which works fine internally.  The server it sits on is called dnn, and the website sits in a virtual folder called dnn (as per the install instructions)  We can open up all of the DNN pages internally with no problems, the URL for this is http://dnn/dnn/default.aspx.  All well and good so far.  Now, we have tried to open up access to this externally, but if we put in our domain name, or its ip address IIS or DNN tries to redirect us to dnn.com?

I put in a dummy html file in the DNN directory to run a test, and if I enter the URL of http://mydomainname.com/test.html or the ip address http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/test.html this works and brings up the html file I have created.  However, if I try just the URL on its own, we get redirected to dnn.com, and if I try to go to http://mydomain.com/default.aspx we get directed to dnn.com.

So, the question is.. why is DNN redirecting external users to dnn.com, yet internally its works fine?

Thanks in advance

Adam.

You must add a portal alias for the domain or IP address.

You can do then when logged in locally as host.  Under Admin -> Site Settings you can add a portal alias.
