Hi,

One of our customers is having what appears to be a problem with 'Post Back' functionality. Every time they attempt to update any modules, pages, portals, really just about anything on their site. The page will refresh as if it is processing the changes. Then it refreshes and no changes have been saved or made to the page at all. Their site is running DNN 4.5.3,  Asp.net 2.0, IIS 6.0. They had this problem a couple of months ago and we moved their domain to a different hosting server and that had corrected the problem up until now. There problem has returned and we have no idea what is causing it. We have had the user consult their Event Viewer Logs and nothing is being reported there or in any other error logs. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi,

Can anyone please offer some ideas as to where to start looking to fix this or a possible solution. There are no errors being reported in the Event logs and absolutely no information that points to a specific file or control as the cause of the problem. Our client hasn't been able to update their site in weeks and is getting very frustrated that no one can find a solution to this problem. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure, this can be a cookie issue, if it happens for a single user only. Of course, any other communication issue sending back the postback data is possible as well. Which http handlers or system modules like Pageblaster are installed? What are the performance settings in Host settings, especially where is the viewstate stored (should be set to page).

We passed that information on to our customer. He then adjusted his viewstate to be stored to the "page". After doing this, he said it appears to be working smoothly and saving his changes again. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge and assisting us with this issue, as does our customer.
