I am wondering if anyone else has had an issue with migrating DNN from a development address to a live address.  What has happened is that the content (specifically images and links) that I have added in development links to the development address from the live site.  So even though DNN is up on the live domain the images still reference the correct locations, but using the development domain name.

My recourse at this point is to rereference all the images and links to the live domain.  Is there a way of preventing this occurance with my next development project aside from developing from the live address?

Many thanks for any input :)

Jesse

you need to make sure, that relative paths are used.

Of course and that is what I would like for my code to look like.  The absolute referencing is coming from the DNN WYSIWYG.  It would not be practical for me to express to my clients or our developers  to view the HTML and delete any absolute referencing every time they add a link or an image. Is there a way where the WYSIWYG can be set to src links and graphics relatively?

Even if the src began with ' / '  and not ' http://www.yourdomain.tdl/ '  - that would work fine.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks again .

Check out the information on this page

The only thing I have found to watch out for is if you have put a qualifier on your database in which case you need to add you qualifier in 3 places (note however I am a newbir at this so there may be a right way !!). There are some good videos on this from Lee's site here Well worth the subscription.
