Hi,
I am creating a new portal on a host account in my dotnetnuke, and when entering http://www.my_new_portal.com it cannot be displayed. I am using Win 2003 and IIS connected directly to Internet. my_new_portal.com domain points to my server so when I am testing it by ping www.my_new_portal.com my server replies.

Please note that my_new_portal.com is not valid name - just an example.

Should I do something else in IIS?

Thank you in advance for any help
Best regards
Mike

I recently had a similar problem, not sure if yours is the same or not.  In IIS you do need to "change path" for the new domain and set it to the root directory of the DNN install.  So if DNN is installed on your host at something like "c:\hosting\memberid\dnn" then you should set the path for the new domain to point there.  DNN will handle the rest as long as you have an alias on the new portal that is "yournewdomain.com", and you can set that up under Host->Portals.  I've found that setting up portals isn't as easy as it sounds, at least if you are like me and very inexperienced at setting up mulitple portals on one install.

Hope that helps,

Rick
