Hi All,

I managed to mess up my web.config file and when trying to log into DNN 4.x now I'm getting the following error:

"A critical error has occurred.
The type initializer for 'DotNetNuke.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationProvider' threw an exception."

I'll keep trying to figure out how to fix it but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Kevin W. Miller

I would compare a new version against that one around where the error is.

Thanks. The problem is that I replaced the working web.config (by mistake and yeah, how dumb not to have a backup) with the release.config version (with modifications for DB access and install date). Somehow, doing so seems to have broken the security provider and I can't figure out what was changed in the working version (which I no longer have) by the install process that made it function and that needs to be changed to match in the current, non-working version.
