I have a large number of modules showing as available to be installed at the bottom of the module definitions page. However, they are all already installed, they appear in the list of installed modules, and the version numbers are the same in both areas.

How do I bring the list of available modules into synch with the installed list?

I've tried selecting modules in the available area and "installing" them. It appears to go through the install but everything is the same as before with them both still showing in each area.

Chris - the "available to install" list is build based on the content of the \Install\Module folder ... so just delete / add module packages to that folder to sync your lists.

Any module package in \Install\Module has to have the .resources extension as opposed to .zip - you can just rename it.

Just to be precise: Module packages in the /install/module folder can have either .zip or .resources extension, .zip files will get installed automatically during portal installation and upgrade or by calling /install/install.aspx?mode=installresources,
