I am looking for a way to create an HTML form and receive the results via email. It's easy if you have Frontpage extensions installed, but I tried that and screwed up about 150-200 hours worth of work on two of my websites. I guess the Frontpage extensions overwrote some permissions on the site. So now, I'm starting both sites over from scratch and want to avoid doing that again....

I don't want to shell out the money to buy a DNN form module, so I'm looking for another route.

Here is the deal:

I'm having a wedding in a few months and I am needing a module (form) so that guests can RSVP for the wedding. I created a simple form for them to input their name, address, etc... and they can check the boxes next to their names and submit it to me. I just cannot find a way to have the results emailed to me. I am needing this ASAP. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

-Randy

There are some excellent modules out there for forms at a very low cost, for the power and flexibility you receive, but if you want a quick fix, try this.

Make your form with Front Page since you are familiar with this but do not "publish" the file with Front Page.   Upload the html page to your portal through the DNN file manager, such as in the root folder.

Place the Iframe module on a page within your DNN portal, and set it to view the html page you uploaded.  Since the html file is in the portal, you can use the same domain as the portal within the iframe.  The iframe path can be your domain/portals/0/formpage.htm.  (assuming 0 is your portal ID, and formpage.htm is the html file you uploaded).

For future forms, with the ability to email, write to a database, and much more, I would suggest the H2O module from Onyaktech
