Was talking with our ISP about an issue with DNN sites. The first time you use them after the site has not been hit a lot it seems like the site goes to sleep. Example first time to use it in the morning it takes 60-90 seconds to load. Once loaded if you keep working on it it works perfectly, fast, etc.

Is there any way to keep the site from timing out or to keep it alive all the time?

ASP.Net applications are JIT compiled on first startup. the result is cached, until the application is recycled, this happens by default after the site has not been used for ~20 mins. Check out the app pool settings with your ISP.

Another thing you can do as well is subscribe to one of the many keep alive services out there.  Mitchel Sellers has a blog post that references a few good ones.

*EDIT*  This has kept some of my less popular sites MUCH more responsive.
