I have a DNN install in our local devqa environment.  The users would now like me to move the portal setup to another production server with a different database.  Copying the code is easy.  However, how do I get all the portal settings out with out dumping each portal table individually?  I can restore the whole database because the 50+ tables for our web app module cannot be overwritten.

I would basically like to publish the portal to a different server.

How can this be done?

Actually it is pretty easy....

While you are on your current environment add a portal alias for your production site.

Backup the database and site

Restore the database and setup the site files to point to the new database

Configure IIS etc on the new production site and you should be set to go.

I have a guide (Backing up and Restoring two separate ones) on my website http://www.mitchelsellers.com
