I migrated my DNN portal to an test environment to test a couple things before putting the portal live. At the moment im using a simple user/password for the dnn database Login. i tried to create a new Login in the test environment in order to use a username and password that aint simple. After deleting the old user and creating the new one, i changed the SQL 2000 string and the SQL 2000 string for backwards compability into the new Login credentials. When i tried to connect to the portal it gave me an error that the Login failed. The username that the portal gave was the same as the old dnn database user that i deleted. Did i forget to change something else? How come the portal is still using the old deleted username while i changed the credentials in the 2 strings....

Ensure that you changed the web.config and not say release.config or development.config.

Also, ensure that the ones you changed were not accidentally the ones that are commented out.

Otherwise force a restart of the application via IIS and try it again.
