I migrated my website to DNN a few months ago, and installed the Google Analytics module.

I recenlty found out that I had not set the correct default page on Google Analytics.  The default page for my google analytics account was Index.html as opposed to default.aspx.   The analytics tool, however, recorded information that appears to be website traffic.

My question is:  Do any of you have an idea what the Analytics tool was recording to give me these mysterious numbers?

Thanks in advance

Hi Glane,

I have a question, did you add the analyzer script to default.aspx page or not?

By my understanding, it works in this way

Adding event handler on the page load.
Passing Google analyzer Unique ID to the function to recognize your account information.
Passing current page information to the function to extract necessary information, so here might be is your answer; it works by page that you add script not what you set up in your analyzer.
Adding some information to cookie to track royalty of users

By setting these, it would collect some information like visitor browser type, screen resolution, availability of java script and so on.

If you like you can use Google analyzer to show up visitor location in your web site by feeding analyzer info to the module. Have a look at www.dnnvillage.com. And let me know if you have a question.

Cheers,
