I need to move a few DNN3 portals from one host (shared server) to DNN4 on another host and shared server. Is there a relatively easy to way to do that? If it requires some software to do, is that available?

there are two steps to combine: upgrade (see http://www.deutschnetnuke.de/tabid/186/Default.aspx) and transferring installation (see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1293/Default.aspx).

Thanks, Sebastian, but I don't think that deals with what I need to do. That's for moving a complete DNN installation from one server to another. Here's my situation, and I find it a not-uncommon one:

- I have a DNN3 installation with a portal and several child portals on one web host (shared server, call it server 1).

- I have a DNN4 installation with a portal and several child portals on another web host (shared server, call it server 2).

- I want to selectively move (really, copy) individual portals from server 1 to server 2.

Thanks,

Mick Ruthven

Is there no good way to do this?

you can move installations but not portals from one installation to another (except by creating a template from the first portal and set up second one using it, but it will far from being a perfect clone).
