I have been noticing that my portal is resetting my User Settings for no apparent reason. I have not been able to pin-point what is causing the issue.

I have my portal set up to require that users enter all required Profile information for Registration and Log In (Admin > Users > User Settings). In addtion, I have set the portal up so that the Display Name is [FIRSTNAME] [LASTNAME].

This works just fine, giving me exactly the information I need then after any given period of time, these settings will reset themselves!

When this happens, if I click on register, I get the default registration information, where I am able to enter my own display name. When I log into my admin account, I notice that 1) the box next to Valid Profile Required for Registration is unchecked, allowing users to register w/o information I wanted to be required and 2) the Diplay Name text box is empty.

Anyone else have this issue who can give me some insight as to how to fix it? At first I thought that it may be a host reset of the application, however, I noticed today that it was not the case.

I am creating a website for a HOA so I need registered users to enter all the profile information I have set as required so I can correctly authorize them to use the sight.

That is indeed a very weird problem you are experiencing.  Those values you mentioned are stored in the database and then persisted through cache, so it is possible, though not likely that you are experiencing a problem with the application cache.  Next time this happens, try logging in as the host as go to Host Settings.  Click the "Restart Application" link at the bottom of the page.  Then, go back into User Settings and see if the settings are restored.  I would be very interested to know if this problem persists.

Thanks for your response. I will try definately try what you suggested when I experience this again (and it will happen, though it may take a few days!).

In the meantime, I keep writing down the server times that registration is functioning as intended, so hopefully the next time my settings just seemingly reset themselves, I will have a better idea of what has happened that could be causing the user settings to reset.

I'll post here when the problem happens again. Thanks again.

Just a quick update...

After I posted here the last time, I decided to Restart the Application, just for the heck of it. It has been 4 days and my User Settings have not reset. This just may have fixed my problem!
