I need to display some news items that I get from an RSS feed, and I can do that with the News Module, but I also need to implement paging to break down the news items into groups of 10 or so (with the usual previous/next page navigation)

I've been able to use the XSLT template that comes with the News Reader module to change the layout, font-size, etc, and I've tried some XSLT paging tips I found online (http://www.15seconds.com/issue/031112.htm) but I get an error on the

position() <= number($

line because I can't use the "<" character

Can anyone help me find a way to "consume" an RSS feed to display news items with paging?
