Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me by reading my  high level approach to my sign-on/registrtion requirements. I'm looking valadation (or rebuke) of my approach and some clarifications on points (I'm quite new to DNN).  First of all, I am using the Oracle data provider so most prebuilt module solutions arent' going to work so well. What I need to happen is anyone on our company intranet can come to this site and use their NT  ID to logon. The system will authenticate them against LDAP and f they have not been given permissions to the site, the only page they get is a form which submits their request for access to an administrator. The administrator can then come in and give them access to different portions of the site. Then on future logons using their NT ID and authenticated through LDAP will give them access to the appropriate portions of the site.

Now I have some ideas about how I would like to do this. I will need to make modifications to the login module so that it authenticates against the LDAP data source. That's fine I'm just not sure exactly which files are the ones I should work with. Basically after authentication via LDAP, I will then allow that person to be inserted as a DNN user. There will be only 1 page available to a newly registered person which will be a custom module which will allow a newly registered user with no permissions, the ability to request access. This module will track requests and notify an administator via email of new requests. The administrator can then come in and assign groups to the user giving him the access to whichever portions of the site are appropriate. Once again, I'm very new to DNN and was wondering if this sounded like a good approach. Also I was wondering if there was some documentation describing the architecture and inner workings of the logon/registration portion of DNN and how to customize that effectively.

TIA for any help that may be offered,
Lee Moore
