I am using Visual Studio 2005 to install Starter Kit 4.7.0

After starting the Installation Wizard (Cntl+F5) the installation works fine until it gets to 'Run database Installation Scripts'.
The Run Database Installation Scripts page opens OK but just sits there with the red activity bar running.
I have left it for over half an hour and it never completes and moves to the next page.

If I close the InstallWizard page and then run the install.aspx page the Installation gets completed, the Status
report shows installation complete and the Portal may be accessed.

This however means that the Host  and Administrator accounts have not been set up.

Can anyone suggest why the Install Wizard 'hangs'.
My method of getting into the portal is obviously not correct as I do get further problems with Host passwords thereafter.

Have you made any custom modifications to the Install.config or Web.config files (other than the connection strings)?

Many thanks but I have found my 'problem'

I was following the instructions in a book which told me to select 'Typical' in the first of the Inst Wizard screens.
Having now read the instructions on the first screen after creating a site I realize this has been updated and that I should have selected the 'Auto Installation' option - at least doing so everything now seems to be fine.

Thanks again

Pete
