I've created a very simple container/skin combination, both of which are working.  The problem is that I can get the skin to be applied to the page, but I can't seem to use my container unless I've logged in as an admin/host user.  (Either that or not all of my container is being displayed, and the css is not being rendered.
Here's what I think are the relevant pieces of info on my site:

  • Version 4.02 - (Created through VS2005)
  • Only 1 portal right now
  • Under Host Settings:
    • Host Skin/Container & Admin Skin/Container are all set to: Not Specified
  • Under Portal Settings:
    • Portal Skin/Container = my new Skin/Container
    • Admin Skin/Container = Not Specified
  • At the page itself (logged in as host, where again, things look the way they should)
    • Page Skin/Container: Not Specified
  • At the module (text module)
    • Module Container = Not Specified
Is there something I'm missing here?  Thanks

Any chance you can post a link?  Or a link to some screen shots?  Hard to visualize the problem...

Just wanted to post the answer to my own question.  I had chosen to not have the container displayed in the options.  When you do this, you also don't get your container.css file linked.  That is what I was missing, and also why things appeared fine when in the host/admin account.
