 which module did you install? DNN 4.8.x and later require only the web.config change mentioned before.

Hi There.

I'm running 4.9.3 on W2K3 with SQL2005.

I edited the web.config like mentioned in the first post, i even restarted the whole IIS on my server but i still get these ugly urls like <server>Default.aspx?tabid=86

What the hack should i do additional to get the human friendly urls?

Thanks

Kai

The ONLY thing I had to do was add urlformat="HumanFriendly" in the web.config to a default installation.

1. Search web.config for "add name= "DNNFriendlyUrl" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Url.FriendlyUrl.DNNFriendlyUrlProvider"

2. At the end of the tag, add urlformat="HumanFriendly" and you're all set after you save and upload the new web.config. Should look like this:

<add name="DNNFriendlyUrl" type="DotNetNuke.Services.Url.FriendlyUrl.DNNFriendlyUrlProvider, DotNetNuke.HttpModules" includePageName="true" regexMatch="[^a-zA-Z0-9 _-]" urlformat="HumanFriendly"/>

That's exactly what i did and this section of my web.config looks exactly like you mentioned.

And it doesn't matter whether i call the site internally in my lan over the host name or calling it outside over the public dns-name.

As already told, i also restarted IIS and i thought when doing this the config-file will be read again...but it seems not...

Kai,

are you using any other URL rewriting component?
