Just upgraded to DNN 4.8.0 and upgraded all the modules on the same day. Out of 12 portals, 1 is giving me an error on the admin or host pages. The regular site works fine. The error message is posted below, but basically says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." in the treeview code. The site does use the  treeview but the treeview is not on the admin pages.  My site pages that actually use the treeview show perfectly. I can't do anything to the site without the admin pages. I have searched the Internet for 5 hours and have not resolved this. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

This one is resolved and has both elements of forgetfulness and wonder.

I had thought that the Admin skin was the default DNN blue and therefore had no treeview. With the admin pages retuning the big error shown above, I had to rely on memory that it was using the default skin.  I could not use the site settings tab in order to confirm or change that setting. - Or could I? After lots of wasted time researching the error message, I remembered I could enter the site settings by logging in to one of the other portals as host, then going to the portals page, and finally edit settings icon next to the portal with the problems.

That's when I learned that the admin skin was one of my own, not the default DNN BLue and also did have the Treeview that was causing the problem. So I changed the admin skin to DNN Blue and the error is gone!

But here is the part that makes you scratch your head in wonder. After this not-so-small success, in a bold move, I reassigned the admin skin to my problematic custom skin that contains the treeview token and found it working perfectly! I'm glad, of course. Because the custom skin is better than the DNN Blue, but I don't know why it works now when it gave me so much trouble before. So for the benefit of the next stressed DNN user with the same problem, it seems that removing the problem skin and then rechoosing it must have reset something and made it work.

You seem to have Treeview experience. Can you tell me if it is a viable control in DNN? I want to use it to "tree" data on a left pane and at the last level be able to click on the bottom level item to display a "product" per say on a right pane. The data to fill the tree will be coming from a SQL database and from a few related tables. The size of the data is not very big. First level 10 nodes, second level 20 nodes max per parent and the the third level 50 max per parent. Any idea if this is doable in DNN with their Treeview control?  thank you. Michael Moore.
