I have an iframe on a page that loads in an aspx page.  I have javascript working correctly the resizes the iframe when the page inside it changes.

When the page inside it is larger after a change, everything works find in every browser.  The iframe grows in height and the DNN page that contains it expands vertically with it.

When the page inside the IFrame becomes small, the IFrame sizes down.  In IE, the DNN containing page also resizes to accomodate this.  However, in Firefox (and safari) it does not size down, leaving a large amount of white space at the bottom of the page.

I have confirmed that this will work correctly in all browsers when not in the DNN template.  Bacially what i've tested outside of DNN is that any tables containing the IFrame will both decrease and increase in size as the IFrame changes height.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Are you using the IFrame module or are you manually loading your ASPX page in your own IFrame?

I just read that the newest version of the IFrame module has this capability built into it: see IFrame Hello Goodbye blog post by Stefan Cullmann

specifically: IFM-6851 Auto height based on content (limititation: content needs to be in the same domain as site)

Perhaps this will help in your situation.

Take care,

Ian

Thanks for the response.

We are not using the latest version unfortunately, and yes I am manually loading it into my own IFrame.

I see that listing in the update notes for the latest version.  However, there is 1 comment on it saying that it "Doesn't autoshrink with Firefox."   The comment isn't exactly very specific but it sounds like the same issue im having.

Assuming an upgrade is out of the question at the moment, does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hmmm I was looking at a different link then yours actually.  The comment I saw is about a month older than the thread you posted but I believe it still applies to the latest version.  http://support.dotnetnuke.com/issue/ViewIssue.aspx?id=6851&PROJID=19

Hey,

Sorry that my first comment wasn't that helpful, I had just heard about that feature recently so I thought I'd share -- I don't actually have any experience with it :)

Anyway, I found a script on dynamic drive that seems to accomplish this same functionality -- and I tested their web site with Firefox (my browser of choice) and it seemed to work quite well sizing down (they have an example on their page).

Dynamic Drive - IFrame SSI script II

Check that out and let me know if it is of any help.

Take care,

Ian
