Menu

Hi,

The pages on our DNN site hardly ever change. Is there a way to cache the menu (for a certain period of time) so that we don't have to make database calls on every page request. Our menu is displayed on almost every page.

Thanks

kdesai

the menu items in dotnetnuke are already cached (as per role), if you check the code you can see this (and the calls to the DotNetNuke.Common.Utilities.DataCache.ClearTabsCache method which ensures the cache is invalidated when required). If you're using your own menu system you would have to replicate this, see Library\Components\Providers\Caching\DataCache.vb for the methods the core uses.
