Hi,

I am currently using version 4.8 of dnn and I wanted to add another field to the Users of my portal.  I know how to alter the Users table and the AddUser stored procedure, but where is the registration page so I can add the field I want to add?  Any help is appreciated.

Thanx

If I fully understand what you're trying to accomplish, here is how you can add a field to the user registration page:

From the Admin menu, go into User Accounts.  On this page, one of the last links you will see is a link to Manage Profile Properties.  At the bottom of this page you will see a link to Add New Profile Property.

I hope that's what you're looking for.

Nope, sorry. Not exactly what I needed.   To express myself better, this is what I need:

I want to add a field to appear at the registration form.  Not at the Profile Properties page of the user.  This textbox doesn't have to be required, and can be one of the existing properties like telephone.

I think I need to alter the User.ascx control, but I don't want to poke around that file.
Any help apreciated, thanx

Yibi,

I have just been through the process of setting up a custom registration form myself, and Camerons advice is correct.

If you want the custom profile fields to show up on your registration form, you need to ensure that the option "Require a valid Profile for Registration:" is checked under Admin -> User Accounts -> User Settings.

There is a very useful guide to the whole process on the DNNCreative site at this URL: http://www.dnncreative.com/Tutorials/DNNTutorialsforAdministrators/ManageProfileProperties/tabid/280/Default.aspx

Hope that helps

Steve
