Hello everyone

All I wanted was to start a simple website.  I didn't know DNN from CNN, but someone got me into it, I learned the basics, and spent a long time entering inventory which is visible OK to the customer.  But suddenly, after logging in as usual and changing no site settings, I discover that clicking to enter new information or inventory in the site, or trying to edit anything, just clears all the fields and the site won't accept the changes.  Then when I try to log out, it accepts the instruction but basically ignores it.  So it won't log out.  I can clear cookies and wait an hour or so and the login expires, but this is not how it is supposed to be.

Most of you are going to be much more knowledgable than me about this.  I think it was not wise to get into something this sophisticated for me.  But there it is.  Can anyone offer a remedy for this problem where the site just won't accept any new information?

You might check to make sure that you are not in "Design" mode.  At the top of the page you should have a Mode display, ensure that edit is selected.

Thank you.  Yes, I am in "Edit," and no, I am not in "Design."  By clearing cookies I can sometimes get the site working again but it quickly reverts to the main problem that it will not accept any new information or edits, and will not allow me to log out.  The host server people say it's not their fault and I'm hardly in a position to prove otherwise.  Must keep in mind I've been adding and editing (and logging out) for two years without any site-related problem.  This is a new issue.

The version is 04.05.03 and I didn't change anything at all.  This bad behaviour started about two weeks ago.  Before that the only major thing that happened was the host server crashed and the website needed to be reinstalled, but apart from losing functionality in the "admin" login, everything else seemed OK after the reinstallation.  (I can login with "host" and one other password.)  I have been very careful about trying to change anything because I know so little about DNN, and was afraid that if I experimented too much I couldn't bring it back.  So this was a surprise.  The site will work OK for a day, then behave that bad way for a few hours.  If I clear the cookies and start over, this sometimes works.  It's a mystery to me and to the person who first introduced me to DNN as well.  Thank you Sebastian.
