I would like the DNN search skin object to display initial text of "search domainname.com".  When the user clicks in the text box, the default text should disappear and allow the user to continue with the search.

I cannot figure out how to do this by using the DNN search properties or CSS styles.

Can I do this by using javascript?

Check in the .res file for the search control.  I think you can change it there.

afaik there is no setting for it, you need to create your own custom skin object.

FYI - I figured out how to accomplish this with some javascript.  You can read all the details on how to get it done on my blog if your interested.
