Hi Jeff

SMTP Test - works fine
New user registrations - works fine
Register user details changed - works fine
Forum Subscriptions/Moderator  - works fine
Forum Moderator Accepted Post - works fine
H20 Forms - work fine
Feedback form - works fine

Forum post notifications - nothing sent
Forum thread user subscription - works sending notifications!!! (but seems to block user from starting a new thread -
NukeA**** Campaign - nothing sent (been dealing with their support but no solution as yet)

I have triple checked almost everything I can think of. Ran all email tests I can and had no errors shown. Checked reverse DNS and all set (just changing MX records to a single entry). No errors in any of the mail server log.

Installed a fresh DNN & Database... same problems as above.  Everything appears to be working expect those few emails.  Even the scheduler says everything is working... though the forum emails schedule task history has been saying "No Current Tasks To Schedule" when there should have been.  When there were ones for subscribers/moderators that were sent it did say "Email Queue Task Completed. Emails Sent:x".

It's also been some months since I've seen a DNN forum notification too! (get the occassional newsletter like I did today). Can only think it is all the same problem if others do get email notifications from here

Really got me beat... I don't know enough to look much further into it (but I've been trying)... just makes no sense as to why these ones might not be getting sent, but the above is consistent.

I believe the forum post notification emails is a known issue with the DNN forums, even though it was supposedly fixed there are still quite a few who have trouble.  No idea on the Nuk****Campaign issue.

Thanks Jeff

It is just the forums and Nuke*** that are having problems... and much the same (should be sending, nothing sent, no errors etc).

Guess there's not much that can be done if it is a known issue and not quite working... shame as it used to work for me!

I've seen this here in Wikipedia...

Multiple PTR records

While most rDNS entries only have one PTR record, it is perfectly legal to have many different PTR records. However, having multiple PTR records for the same IP address is generally not recommended unless there is a specific need. For example, if a webserver supports many virtual hosts, there can be one PTR record for each host and some versions of name server software will automatically add a PTR record for each host. Multiple PTR records can cause a couple of problems, including triggering bugs in programs that only expect there to ever be a single PTR record and, in the case of a large webserver, having hundreds of PTR records can cause the DNS packets to be much larger than normal.

Is it possible this is triggering a bug?

If so, I may soon find out... just waiting for our changes to come through. We have had it running with multiple PTR records for quite some time (years).
