I am SOOO Frustrated.  I am taking over maintenance of a site that exists and I want to add a new module on a new page.

So I read all this and figured out how I want my module to work and now I go to add it to my site.  I log in as HOST, after figuring out how to reset the password, because I didn't have the password and when I tried to email it to myself, that didn't work.

So I now login and I see NO host menu.  I see the menu at the top of the page which has three sections:  Page Functions, Add New Module / Add Existing Module, and Common Tasks.  When I log in as Admin, I see the same thing.  I added a new user and made it a SuperUser and same thing.  I tried on the production site ands same this.  What am I missing, where is this Host Menu that lets me add my module?  I've been at this for a long time and I am very frustrated.

Is there something wrong with the configuration?  Is there a different way to log in?  Am I looking at the wrong page?  I can't even figure out how to change the page I'm looking at in the bottom part of the page when I log in.

Each section of the page I'm looking at has a drop down menu to let me edit that section, but I need to add my new module like all the documentation says.  I feel like I'm going crazy.  I just don't see it.

When I log in , I go to a page called http://..../home/tabid/66/ctl/Login/Default.aspx  .  It's the same page that users go to to edit the content of the site.  Should there be a different login page?

I tried restarting IIS to see if this helped.

Please shed some light.

You site's skin might not have any menu at all. This is unlikely but possible. In this case you may try the following: on the start page right after you log in click "Settings" and set the default skin (DNNBlue) for this page. After that the menu should appear on this page (that is if you have the default skin and if it was not altered:).

Thank you for the reply.  So I think you mean 'settings' under "page functions'.  That's the only 'settings' I see.  When I click on SETTINGS, I just get the page that is showing under the top menu, the top menu (Page functions, edit/new module, common tasks) is gone.  So does that mean I'm really messed up here?

How did you create a superuser without having a host menu? It sounds to me like you're still signed in as an Admin user.

I created a superuser with the link on the upper  right side of the menu.  BUT the good news is that I finally found a host menu.  I used the techniqe that was proposed again and it worked, which is great.  Thank you.

Then I created a module using Visual Studio.  I changed the name of the directory to 'Add Comments'.  Now I add a module, with a View Control and a Add Control that references that.  BUT when I add it to a page, nothing shows up.  Even if I go edit my View and Edit ascx's to just asy 'hello world', it doesnt seem to work.  Like it's not finding the modules.

Any hints?
