Subject says it all. I have a 4.8.2 system, recently upgraded from 4.5.1, and when I try to upgrade or install from scratch the Events Module to 3.3.8, my site hangs and the w3wp.exe process shoots up to ~100% CPU. Curiously, Survey Module upgraded to 4.5.0 fine. I have tried the following:

  • upgraded .NET 2.0 to SP1, this has solved other people's problems with high CPU
  • disabled Ajax
  • ensured that Friendly URLs were enabled (the Events forum says it's necessary)
  • removed the module and blew away all related DLL's, directories, etc. by hand
  • ran Microsoft's DebugDiag 1.1, but I couldn't make sense of the crash dump analysis

Can someone suggest other things to look at, or a better way to figure out where in the code it's getting stuck?

Thanks
Steve
