HI there.

I would like to make some parent portals. can anyone tell me what are the required that are required to make a parent poral. i am hosting my site on godaddy. I tried making a parent portal on the local system also but its not helping. And for your infomation i am not getting error on the local system accept that SMTP is not configured but thats ok we dont need SMTP. But i am not able to go to that site. The similar thing is with the Godaddy server also and the smtp is configured but still no luck. And when we go to the partals page i can see there is 1 page there on that site but still no luck

Kindly help me out with this.

To run a parent portal you need have a second domain mapped to your godaddy account. The parent portal alias needs to be this second domain....
As far as I am aware most of the other settings are sorted by go daddy at the IIS level.

I have one more registered domain at godaddy but when i am trying to host and put the alias as the name of that second domain still it is not working.

Can any one tell do i need to anymore setting anywhere else. i have given and read and write permission to the folder where i have dnn.

oh is dnn not in your root if so for that to work you'd need to enter the full path int eh alias i.e. mydomain1.com/mydnnfolder

give that a try and see if it helps
