I need to design a website which offers paid subscriptions and will create a special page for the subscriber. Can anyone give me some ideas as to what modules and such are currently being used for subscriptions or how i can acheive this with DotNetNuke?

I need to clarify the special page. Basically this will be a profile. I believe a social networking module will work although it needs to be configurable for additional roles and the profile layouts and such will also need to be highly configurable by the superadmin. This wil be more of a business network and not need all the silly myspace stuff. All profiles will need to have a similiar look but with some user configuration.

The subscription module will need to accept additional roles which the superadmin creates and each have their own access rules.

Not a single suggestion?

There's no single answer for you. Researching and testing modules is a huge task, and you're going to have to buckle down and spend some time on it.

I suggest you first sort out your exact requirements and then go hunting around on Snowcovered in the modules section to get a feel for whats available. There are many ways to handle subscriptions, all slightly different and none of them ideal. There are a few way to handle profiles. Examine Smart-Thinker's modules for that. DNNFusion does an all-in-one social networking module but ongoing support and development is suspect.

I've researched hundreds of modules and I'm afraid I have no simple answer other than the above.

I cant believe there isn't a community type module already available for DNN. Basically i need a module which will simply take monthly or yearly payments for different roles and have an admin area for management. It will also need to notify users of important events such as upcoming expiration and such. I can start there for now and work on the profiles and other things afterwards. Any recommendations of good modules for this?
