I have 4.8.0 installed on Godaddy hosting.  Install and everything else went fine.  When I installed it I installed it under a domain name I used for testing as my real domain name had not yet transferred over to GoDaddy yet.  After my real domain name came across I changed domain names with GoDaddy for my  hosting and now I cannot access my site.  I made sure I had my alias in the DNN portal before doing this and cannot get at it.  Is there another place I need to change this within DNN?  I noticed under Admin>Site Settings the Site Map URL still has the test domain so something must be still pointing to the old domain name.

Hey,

A common path for a request is URL -> DNS -> Server IP address -> IIS host header -> DotNetNuke Application -> Looks up the portal alias -> redirects to the appropriate portal.

Is there an equivilent of the IIS host header in the GoDaddy world - that may be what you're missing.

*edit* also , what kind of error message are you seeing when you navigate to the site?

Take care,

Ian

Technically I don't get an error.  When I navigate to the actual site www.domainname.com/1/ I get my parked page. (GoDaddy won't let you install DNN in the root directory).  But when I navigated to www.testdomainname.com/1/ it worked just fine.  I will have to check with GoDaddy on the IIS Header stuff.

This sounds like the DNS popagation or other configuration inside GoDaddy is not properly configured and directing to DNN.

Thanks Mitch.  I will also check that too and let you know my findings.
