I tried to access my site this morning and got the below error, what does this mean?

Server Error in '/' Application.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Could not load file or assembly 'Affirma.ThreeSharp' or one of its dependencies. There is not enough space on the disk. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070070)
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'Affirma.ThreeSharp' or one of its dependencies. There is not enough space on the disk. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070070)

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'Affirma.ThreeSharp' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.  To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.  Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.  To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

I think the problem appears to be pretty clear.  There is either no disk space left where the application resides, or the assembly "Affirma.ThreeSharp.dll" is not in the Bin directory.  This could also refer to another assembly that the ThreeSharp assembly depends on.  For instance, if the ThreeSharp assembly references an assembly called "SomeAssembly.dll", then that also needs to be in the Bin directory.

Actually, I just encountered the same problem in DNN 4.9.something.  The HD is a 500GB Sata2 with 286GB freespace.
What do you mean by "where the application resides"?
On windows, there is no Max Directory Size like there is on Nix.

Website is down.  This is strange & critical. Need help please.

The problem can either be on the data volume (where web site files reside) or on the system drive, where temporary files need to be created.

Besides missing volume space another problem might be missing file system permissions not allowing the system to create necessary temporary files. Did you lately run tools like URLScan on the server?

Here is the fix to my problem... and probably the fix to Edgar's problem also.
The problem:  ASP disconnected itself from between DNN and the SQL Server.
Here is the Fix:
In a DOS box:
C:/windows/microsoft.net/framework/v2.0.50727/aspnet_regiis.exe -u  (which uninstalls ASP)
then
C:/windows/microsoft.net/framework/v2.0.50727/aspnet_regiis.exe -i (then reinstalls ASP)

This solution was provided to be by Mitch Sellers of www.iowacomputergurus.com.  He remembered this because early versions of DNN would frequently corrupt the ASP on the machine.
