I would like, as a marketing strategy, to have search engine crawl and index content that are for members only. When people click on the Search engine search result it prompts the user for login in or register.  I have seen this done with engine like MemberGate and would like to implement this on ourt DNN based site.

Are they ways to do that?

Is it possible to attribute a role to Search engine crawlers?

Thank you for your input.

you can add search input module for authenticated users only and a Text/HTML module with and image and appropriate text displayed to unauthenticated users only.

Thank you for your reply, but I am not sure I understand your suggestion. How is this going to help the page being crawled by the search engine spiders?

Thank you,

oops, sorry. your need for indexing private context will require to tweak the search indexer in the core framework.
