make sure that the portal administrator's email address is correct. The portal admin is selected in Admin > Site settings, and is by default the Admin user account

Sorry, but that wasn't the original question. Must have been cut off. I wanted to know how do you get the the new user registered email that is sent automatically to fill in the user name. Currently, the only info that is sent in the emai is their email address which is nice but I would like to also get their user name.

Also, How do I edit the response emai that is sent to the user? I would like to add some additional information to the email.

Thanks

the registration confirmation usually contain user name and email address, if not, you might use either an old version of DotNetNuke or a customized text for the welcome letter (if you use a language pack, make sure to install latest version after framework upgrades), which can be modified per portal using the language editor in admin :: languages (default file).

Thanks Sebastian

I figured it out by editing the globalresources.resx  file in notepad found in the "app_globalresources" folder. I checked out how you edited it too. Thanks. Thats much easier than coping from host and editing and ftp back up.
