Further clarification...

I have this for the menu placement...

<div id="Menu"><dnn:NAV runat="server" id="dnnNAV" ProviderName="DNNMenuNavigationProvider" CSSControl="main_dnnmenu_bar" CSSContainerRoot="main_dnnmenu_container" CSSNode="main_dnnmenu_item" CSSNodeRoot="main_dnnmenu_rootitem" CSSIcon="main_dnnmenu_icon" CSSContainerSub="main_dnnmenu_submenu" CSSBreak="main_dnnmenu_break" CSSNodeHover="main_dnnmenu_itemhover" /></div>

Let's say that the church menu needs top-level items of: Apple  Bananna  Peach  Pear  Grapes...
Let's say that the school menu needs top-level items of: Round  Square  Triangle  Rectangle...

How do I make some pages point to a different menu, or mark specific items for one template and not the other?

Or... I noticed that starting with the DNN-Blue skin, the Register directives have this line:

<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="NAV" Src="~/Admin/Skins/Nav.ascx" %>

Can I duplicate this with its code-behind and xml to another name, let's say Nav2.ascx?

Thoughts?

Your help is greatly appriciated!!!

Tony

? i am not sure what you were doing with the code, my suggestion was just using the add page option, then assigning that page to a parent page which would place it as a child page under the assigned page

Hi!

Iam newbie to DNN and Iam facing basicly the same thing as you. I whant my page to be avalible in two languages. I whant one menu for each language (with its own pages). I was thinking as you, and was sopose to do a subsite. But the thing Tom Kraak wrote with skins sounded smoother. But how..?..(Also i have problem with my DNN createing subsites...)

Have you got any nice tips?.. :P

Thanx!
/Niclas

This can easily be accomplished with 3 page skins and proper redirection unless you have other reasons to break this into DNN child portals.

Tom, I would be very greatful if you could explain in more detail how to do this. What I I want to do is a website with two sitelanguages. I want one menu for each language (with its own pages).

Thanx!

You have two skins, one for Church and another for School.  Each has its own menu.  But I think you're missing even more here.  The page structure dictates what appears on the menu.  So to get what you need, regardless of skins, you simply need to organize the pages as you wish.  As in:

Home

Church
  Apple
  Bannana
  Peach
  Pear
  Grapes

School
  Round
  Square
  Triangle
  Rectangle

Use a menu that allows you to set the top level to the page you're on and child pages, and you get a dynamic menu that shows Home, Church, School at the Home Page and Round, Square, Triangle, Rectangle at the School Page.
