Hi,

I have a site in server and now trying to make it work in local machine, i installed dnn and all.

Now the thing is my site is previously a normal html site and then updated to dnn. so its folder structrue is like site/cms and inside cms folder is the new dnn site.

i copied the files to virtual directory in same structure.  updated portal alias table with http://localhost/site/cms

Now when i open the site in browser with http://loalhost/site its updagrading the db and "Click here to view portal" is showing.

but when i click on that is not showing the webpage, its showing error as below:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:

  • You are not connected to the Internet.
  • The website is encountering problems.
  • There might be a typing error in the address.

Can anyone help me on this.

Do you also have a dnn install under the sites directory?  It looks like you do since accessing localhost\sites kicked off the install.  If you do have the dnn files installed under sites, do you need them there?  If not delete them and redo the install using the localhost\sites\cms URL.
