I've noticed that dnn apps are excetionally slow and when mentioning it to the hosting company they suggested clearing the event log.

That certainly does speed up the loading of my dnn app, except it slows down again very quickly since the event log continues to run. I would only use this on certain occasions -- what I'm more interested in is the loading time of the dnn app.

From my tests I have found that it is definately the event log that slows down the app dramatically in very short time and the only way to correct this is to clear the event log -- like every time the app is used!

So is there any way to disable the event log?

Also, there is no way of saving the settings on the event viewer settings. It says "You can choose to restict the log to certain types of events", but when you select an event there is no where to save the seting as there is on other pages. When you go out and come back the settings are still on "All".

From the Admin menu, Event Viewer, Edit Log Settings. From here you can configure which events are logged, how many entries are kept etc.

Hope this helps, Rhys.
