Hello,

Is it possible to make auto signin for crawlers like it's done in many php engines like vbulletin, ipb or phpbb?

Thank you in advance for any help or assistance

So you want to allow GoogleBot or YahooSlurp bot to access and index pages that otherwise would require registered user authentication. Am I correct?

I believe you can create a custom role in DNN and call it "Search Engine Bots", add this role to restricted content pages with read permission. Then you need to modify the authentication provider DotNetNuke.Security.Membership to ether access external database, config file, or hard code list of IP addresses of all know search engine bots so that they would automatically become authenticated with "Search Engine Bots" role. The lists of known search engine IP addresses can be found here http://www.jafsoft.com/searchengines/webbots.html

Thank you for your reply and explanation.

Yes, you 've got it what I want absolutelly right. So as far as I can understand currently it is impossible to authentificate by host name/ IP address by means of core authentification providers or other modules?

Thank you
