I want to secure a a page on my site. In admin I enabled SSL, entered the shared SSL URL form the hostimg company, and the standard URL. In page settings I checked "secured".

However, when I go to the secure page the URL ads an https to the front, but does not go the shared secure URL and I get the following error below.

Does anyone know what the problem could be or have an idea of how I can get around it? THANKS

Server Error in '/' Application.

Does your hosting provider give you both a httpdocs and a httpsdocs folder for accessing your site?

Some shared hosting providers separate http and https traffic to two different root folders, this typically results in an error due to no DNN files existing in the https folder.

You can copy the files across, if you need to, but just be sure to always keep the core DNN system in sync.  It isn't elegant, but in shared hosting it is sometimes the only option.

Thank you for your response.

However, I can view the page just fine by going manally to the secure page (the SSL url provided by the host plus the page extention).

The problem is that when I go to the page in the menu it just adds a "https" to the front of the url it does not go to to the shared SSL url I entered in the admin. Does that make sense? Does the answer you gave still apply to this situation?

Thanks again for your assistance,

Heitha

Did the shared ssl get aded as a portal alias to the dnn properly?  I think this is needed.  Also I'm not sure about having "/" in the shared name like:   abc com/sharedsersvers/ .  Does your shared name have this?
