In your module definition do you have a properly formatted version number (01.01.01)? 1.1.1 won’t work… That one always gets me... and I'm not 100% sure because I now always include one by default, but I think you need to have a basic *.dnn file in your module folder before the "Create Package" link will show up.

Hey, Brian:

I tried both the default ModuleActions() property (that came with DNN starter kit in the Optional Interfaces section in the ViewModuleDefinition control's code-behind) and the code you provided, and I even created a dummy EditModuleDefinition Control and its code-behind, but still I couldn't see "Create Module Package" menu item. Any more suggestions or could you elaborate more on this?

Thanks.

Han

Sorry, i guess I wasn't clear in my first post.  That code is from the EditModuleDefinition control, the one that you are trying to get to show your the Create Module Package option.  I was just showing you that code so that you can see what needs to happen for that control to make the Create Module Package option available.

To make is simpler, you need to 1) make sure that your site is local, and 2) make sure, as Robert mentioned, that your module folder exists.  Those are the only two things that should really get in your way.  Have you checked and addressed both of those issues?

Hey, Brian, Robert and all else who helped:

I finally got it to work. The problem was with the folder name on the Edit Module Definition page as Robert had suggested. It turns out that the folder name specified on this page must be exactly the same as the folder name for the module under Desktop Modules in Visual Studio Solution Explorer.

I appreciate all of your help.

Hey, Brian:

I left out the "Optional Interfaces" section in the ViewModuleDefinition control's code-behind (the code you suggested or the code that came with the starter kit, either of which implements Entities.Modules.IActionable), and I still could get to the Edit Module Definition Page for the module and the Create Module Package option is still available. Thought you might want to know, if I didn't misunderstand you. Thanks again for your help.

Han,

Yeah, you don't want to put that in your module.  Sorry that was confusing for you.  That wasn't code to use in your module, just code to study from elsewhere in the project.

Again, sorry for the confusion.
