I've been looking at the Silverlight Photo Gallery 4.3.  While it's great that it can create a dynamic photo gallery from images in a directory, there's no  information on how to upload photos.

I'm looking for a gallery solution where authenticated users can contribute to a shared gallery that only the authenticated users can see.  Additionally, I need to have a gallery that only a particular user can add/delete photos from, but all authenticated users can see.  The ability to bulk upload to a directory is key. I'm not sure that the silverlight gallery allows bulk uploads via zip files. I can't seem to find info on that. I also looked at the ZLDNN media gallery module, which seems OK.

1. How do I allow authenticated users to upload single image files and/or zip files of images to a certain folder? (ideally a secure file system folder).  Is there a separate upload module that I can use?  If there is, the silverlight gallery would be great.  It'd be even better if there's a "file manager" module that I can point to a specific "root" directory such as "photos" that allows authenticated users to create their own folders as subdirectories in the "photos" folder.

2. Does anyone have a favorite gallery module?  Ideally less than $100.

Take a look at Ventrain's Simple Gallery. I believe it fits your bill as far as uploads. Also Bizmodules Media gallery is also very nice. It's main advantage over the other gallery is granular security on each "album".

That said the subscription to Ventrain's modules is unsurpassed in value. Scott turns out a great product and the subscription includes some great other mod's, including the news Article mod which is outstanding.

Not sure if it meets all the requirements you have but www.mandeeps.com Live Content has a lot of functionality for galleries and many other items.

I have to agree with CSmith Ventrians Simple Gallery works quite well... and is as the name suggests... simple.  But I happen to use the Lightbox effect quite a bit outside of DNN, and this just makes like pretty easy with that module.  And I think its only like 20 bones for a 3 month membership to their site?
