I'm having a weird problem when I try to create child portals.  I input the information and try to create the portal and the creation times out.  I have a fast connection to my server but for some reason it times out and doesn't finish creating the portal.  I've tried using multiple templates also. Has anyone had this problem or know what might be causing it.  besides saying that the process timed out there isn't an error message that gives me any clue at the cause.

I have just found the following error in the event viewer:

We have found that if you leave the process running it will eventually time out, but the portal will be created. However the Portal Alias was not set so we had to go back and add this manually.

I also found that the scheduled job that is supposed to clear down the cache has never been enabled and so our cache (which is set to disk) is HUGE. So big in fact that when you select the "Clear Cache" option that this times out as well.

I am going to attempt to clear the cache manually, as soon as I have found out how to do this!
