Hi

I want to install dotnetmuke version DotNetNuke 4.6.2  and whith 2005 sql server database amd i use windows server 2003

how i can write the connection string i try the connectio which for sql 2005 only and it make error

my tries:

first try:

   <!--add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Data Source=.\SQLExpress;Integrated Security=True;User Instance=True;AttachDBFilename=|DataDirectory|Ali_Commerce2.mdf;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" /-->

 

second try:

     <add
      name="SiteSqlServer"
      connectionString="Server=(local);Database=Ali_Commerce2;uid=Ali_Commerce2;pwd=Ali_Commerce2;"
      providerName="System.Data.SqlClient" />

but yhe both make error

Current Assembly Version: 04.06.02

ERROR: Could not connect to database specified in connectionString for SqlDataProvider

what is the connectio which solve this

First, please use a different font size for your posts, this is very hard to read (even for an elder person).

Regarding your question: how do you want to use the sql server - using a file based connection, which eliminates the need of creating the empty database and grant access permission manually but cannot be opened by management tools simultaneously or the "classic" database connection, which needs a bit more effort in setting up but is easier to maintain.

Make sure, to uncomment the appropriate connection string (web.config comments start with <!-- and ends with --> )

Hi,

Sorry the font be red and in large font by default when i copy the error

the connection was commented becouse i used it in the first try but it wasn't commented at this time i want any one send the connection string which used when i use

sql server 2005 and dotnetnuke version 4.6.2 becoue it make error to me i tried to use the two samples of the connection of the connection string but no way

can any one help me quickly plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz?

Meeda - I've moved your thread to the general forums rather than the feedback forum since it's not related to the feedback module in particular.

If you use the config file that comes with DNN, you should be able to comment/uncomment the relevant connection strings based on whether you're using SQL Server 2000/2005 or SQL Express. Are you having a problem with which ones to comment/uncomment?
